Mount Kailash is locate near Mansarovar lake and lake Rakshastal. The mountain is known as Kailasa in Sanskrit. The Tibetan name for the mountain is Gangs Rin-po-che. According to Hinduism, Shiva resided at the Acme of a mountain named Kailāsa, where he sat in a state of meditation along with his wife Pārvatī. He is believed to be the founder of Yoga and so is named as “Adi-Yogi”.
